Flat Footed Type

After a self-training, preparation for the 6.2 miles run event and until the race was finished;  my feet felt injured. I wasn’t sure if runners had the same feeling or is it’s normal after the race? My Adidas Running shoes has been with me for years and I used to walk it and wear it during my gym training.

I have ran & used it to an organized race, ran a 10 kilometers and finished it in my best record of 1 hour and 10 minutes, not bad for a wannabe runner. I don’t understand how is it possible for me to get a serious painful foot after the run, which I totally ignored it.

So, I bought another running shoes..  Nike Running shoes and run it to another 6.2 miles again…… After more runs, it got more painful in the part of inner arch and inner heel. Every land of my left foot on the ground and another land of right foot you can feel the pain and it really hurt, I guess the only cure is passing the finish line. A medal is worth the pain.

The shoe is not the right type shoe. A week of use, then I bought a best shoe type!

Seriously, for the first time runners if you’ve feel any pain after the long run, you should consult or ask an advice from expert or runners, they know better than you. After the painful feet experience, I went to Runners store and check my arch type and then I found out my sole is a flat type. According to them I might have a serious injury and may not run for six months if I will not have the right shoe. Three (3) arch types are NORMAL, FLAT and HIGH.

“The medial arch (inner arch) is low which result in pain in this region and also affects the mechanics of the rest of your body.

Persistent throbbing pain may be present in the arch region while running; many other running injuries are also a result of flat feet. Flat feet can cause biomechanical irregularities with you running stride that can result in achilles pain, shin pain, heel pain, calf pain, hamstring strain, quadricep strain, knee pain and can even result in lower back pain.

There are two main causes of flat feet, over pronation and hereditary factors. Often flat feet can be an inherit trait in a family which can result in several generations having this condition. Over pronation occurs when there is excessive mobility in the sab-taler joint of the foot which causes hyper mobility of the foot. The increased mobility causes the medial arch to flattened out and causes the foot to roll in too much while walking and running. This increased mobility adversely affects all the muscles in the foot and can even affect the lower leg, upper leg and cause back pain. This mechanical imbalance is highlighted during running due to the increased forces being applied to the body.” – http://www.runnersrescue.com/
