Vitamin E for Sports & Fitness

Vitamin E’s antioxidant properties are also important to cell membranes. For example, vitamin E protects lung cells that are in constant contact with oxygen and white blood cells that help fight disease.

Vitamin E also acts as an antioxidant in foods. The vitamin E in vegetable oils helps keep them from being oxidized and turning rancid

Why Do Athletes Use It?

Some athletes say that vitamin E helps boost immunity and ease muscle cramps.

What Do the Advocates Say?

Vitamin E is important to athletes because it is an antioxidant and may help to prevent some of the oxidative damage that may occur from exercise. This oxidative damage, caused by free radicals, may interfere with the cells’ ability to function normally and is believed to play a role in many different health conditions, including the aging process, cancer, and heart disease.

Vitamin E promotes a healthy immune system and may help to prevent the dip in immune function that may occur right after exercise. Vitamin E may also help to ease muscle cramps.

Flat Footed Type

After a self-training, preparation for the 6.2 miles run event and until the race was finished;  my feet felt injured. I wasn’t sure if runners had the same feeling or is it’s normal after the race? My Adidas Running shoes has been with me for years and I used to walk it and wear it during my gym training.

I have ran & used it to an organized race, ran a 10 kilometers and finished it in my best record of 1 hour and 10 minutes, not bad for a wannabe runner. I don’t understand how is it possible for me to get a serious painful foot after the run, which I totally ignored it.

So, I bought another running shoes..  Nike Running shoes and run it to another 6.2 miles again…… After more runs, it got more painful in the part of inner arch and inner heel. Every land of my left foot on the ground and another land of right foot you can feel the pain and it really hurt, I guess the only cure is passing the finish line. A medal is worth the pain.

The shoe is not the right type shoe. A week of use, then I bought a best shoe type!

Seriously, for the first time runners if you’ve feel any pain after the long run, you should consult or ask an advice from expert or runners, they know better than you. After the painful feet experience, I went to Runners store and check my arch type and then I found out my sole is a flat type. According to them I might have a serious injury and may not run for six months if I will not have the right shoe. Three (3) arch types are NORMAL, FLAT and HIGH.

——————————————–

“The medial arch (inner arch) is low which result in pain in this region and also affects the mechanics of the rest of your body.

Persistent throbbing pain may be present in the arch region while running; many other running injuries are also a result of flat feet. Flat feet can cause biomechanical irregularities with you running stride that can result in achilles pain, shin pain, heel pain, calf pain, hamstring strain, quadricep strain, knee pain and can even result in lower back pain.

There are two main causes of flat feet, over pronation and hereditary factors. Often flat feet can be an inherit trait in a family which can result in several generations having this condition. Over pronation occurs when there is excessive mobility in the sab-taler joint of the foot which causes hyper mobility of the foot. The increased mobility causes the medial arch to flattened out and causes the foot to roll in too much while walking and running. This increased mobility adversely affects all the muscles in the foot and can even affect the lower leg, upper leg and cause back pain. This mechanical imbalance is highlighted during running due to the increased forces being applied to the body.” – http://www.runnersrescue.com/

Practice running and go for miles

Seventeen days left for the awaited 38th Milo Marathon Event.

Do I should be doing a lot of preparation and practice, the answer is YES! Brent run 2014, was the unforgettable twenty two kilometers run because of the uphill’s and downhill’s, in short no flats of a half marathon from start to finish. I remember weeks before the event, I’ve set a goal to run every day no more less than 10 kilometers. Finished the 22k Brent run in my best personal record of two hours and forty nine minutes and fifty nine seconds. The 38th Milo Marathon, Dagupan Leg on the 6th of July is kinda scared and quite challenging because of the cut off time of two hours and a half.

Two runs last week was so bad like running with no company sucks! Though, at least I have my mp3 phone listening to music which helps my whole moment running in a well slow phase. Practice running need a push, someone who will check on you or act like your trainer, a friend that will help you push and motivate like punishing you to run fast.

I can’t give advices and tell more details here about my running because I know a runner like me knows a bad run and also running in a slow phase. I’m not that expert runner and blogger like Tin Ferrera of http://www.kikayrunner.com however, I think I might after five years. I believe running a simple blog and to write what’s on my mind is a huge step encouraging myself doing the best of everything I do.

The most important thing in running is to enjoy every step and feel your body, like you are getting sexy because of it. Running is an activity that can burn calories, toned muscle, clear you mind and ability just to be yourself. What else’s could you ask for more if running can move you freely and alive. And to enjoy running more is taking a selfie photo while you are on a recovery phase.

Below is a video How to Stay Motivated While Running.

Tessa will run: Milo Marathon 2014

Today, I signed a half marathon race on the 378h Milo Marathon  to be held on July 6, 2014. Another leg race in my province that will surely enjoy every runner in Dagupan City. Last year leg, the 37th Milo Marathon in Dagupan was unforgettable, it was the love of running and had made me joined more marathon races. It was a really tough challenge, it pushed beyond limits with the power and determination to succeed every mile, 🙂 from 10k last year to 21k this year 🙂

37th Milo Marathon Leg would be my 5th Half Mary challenge and I think this will be the toughest I will ever play. The cut off time is 2 hours and a half (sigh), and I have never reached.

Motivation:

Actually I’m always motivated on everything I do especially if it requires a hardwork, determination and up-to- a -challenge.  My life has been so crazy, to experience different things like running is one of it that thought running miles is a huge heck of craziness, I don’t think so. Running is a life of happiness, a great way to release stress, a way to a healthy living lifestyle and teach you to always move forward and get out the comfort zone.

Me and Mountain Bike

How did you get into mountain biking?

I got into mountain biking through my needs. The need to enjoy healthy life of living, away from bad vices and adding great workout beside doing zumba and taebo. I saw this girl friend on facebook holding her bike with pride and that made me decided to buy. I find bicycling so much fun since my childhood days as I remember I have to ask permission from our neighbor to borrow a bike and just ride and ride abusing time while my parents are not around. I got my giant revel disc 0 at JABANES Bikeshop in Dagupan City along Arellano St., JDV and Bonuan intersection and rode around Dagupan, San Fabian. As I run San Fabian rough road trail for the first time, I love it and mountain biking balance my life being.

What makes you passionate about mountain biking?

The love of mountain, road, air, air, sun that made me more appreciate the natural resources of every human being needs. The feeling it gives you when you’re pushing your limits and doing things that scare you is amazing. I love the freedom mountain biking gives me, I can go on pedaling and see beauty of places to places where I go on some adventures on my bike.

What do you think is one of the biggest barriers for women in mountain biking, racing or otherwise?

Money 🙂

When not on your bike, what are you most likely to be doing?

You will see me run for an hour or two at JDV road, just at home: cleaning our place, taking care of dogs, doing my laundry and probably browsing social activities in the internet.

Where are your favorite places to ride?

San Fabian Inmalog Trail, Umbok-Urdaneta Trail

Which places would you like to ride, but haven’t yet?

March Run Marathons

Feeling excited for the month of March as I swing and play on two (2) marathons. What is more exciting, I’m confident to run half-mary on this two events.  The only thing scare me most is to get myself injure on the race however, the aim is to finish and claim 21k road challenge! In this challenge, the only goal I want is to finish the race and maintain a pace of 6.1-6.9.  The estimate hour would be 2hrs and 30 – 45 minutes for Clark Animo Run 5 however, for LUUM3 is more in uphill challenge so could be 4 hours with walk.

We are lucky that we have smart and energetic organizers in this kind of marathon events that I believe they’re not stopping to market to reach runners and avid fun runs fan! They make our life more exciting, fun, colorful and teach us to manage our life well-being. Running leads me to new and healthy lifestyle which is really good for me. I am doing this for my husband and my family to keep myself free from stress and live young and healthy.
